Evans Hairstyling College was started in 1972 in Cedar City, Utah. It has grown throughout Utah and is currently opening in Rexburg, Idaho. Evans Hairstyling College has looked into Idaho and feels that Idaho is prime and ready for the best cosmetology career available. Evans Hairstyling College will open in the fall of 2005 and is dedicated to helping students obtain a career that will be up to date and productive, so student will be able to enter into the work place to make an exciting and profitable career.
Rick and April EvansRICK EVANS
Rick Evans is married and has five children and six grand children. All currently living in Idaho. Rick and his wife April opened their first school in Provo, Utah in 1978 and then in Orem, Utah in 1987. They now live in Idaho and are ready to bring their knowledge and productivity to Idaho. Rick has been a hands on owner and instructor since opening his schools. He feels that it is important for the owner of the school to be involved with the students and those clients that support the students in school. He is a very accomplished professional in the arts of cosmetology and is progressive in coloring, cutting and all areas of the profession.OBJECTIVES OF OUR SCHOOL
1. To teach a person to become a professional (looks, actions and ability)
2. To teach the arts of cosmetology in all phases of the beauty profession.
3. To teach the ability to meet people, talk with them, and get along with them.
4. To work with clients and to understand their needs and wants.
5. How to become a successful salon owner or manager in today’s market place.
6. How to outline your work for today’s beauty salons for optimum use of time and productivity.We believe that the first step to becoming successful as a professional is in the way a person looks. If you are going to sell beauty, you must look the part.
DRESS CODE
1. All students are required to wear uniform lab coats.
2. All students will maintain modest dress (Clothing will be covered by uniform).
3. All shoes will be closed in on toe and heel. No sandals, flip flops or woven shoes. Shoes should be comfortable to stand in all day.CONDUCT
Attitude is the key to success. There is no room in this profession for a person who possesses a bad attitude toward the public, fellow students, or their instructors.For those students interested, there is an LDS Institute of Religion available to the students of Evans Hairstyling College.
REQUIREMENTS FOR GRADUATION
Schedule of 2,000 hours and one year of training is required by the state of Idaho. 40 hours a week.By graduation a student must complete 2,000 hours which entitles them to take the State Board Exam in any state in the United States, as well as being qualified to open their own salon.
ADVANCED STUDENTS
Anytime after the first quarter and a student feels confident enough, they may begin working on their advanced student qualifications.And advanced student is not the same as a senior student. A senior student is one who has put in time. An advanced student is one recognized by the school, clients, and the salons that hire them. They are recognized for excelling in the profession of Cosmetology.
INFORMATION ABOUT THE SCHOOL AND BUILDING
Each school has a classroom, clinical floor area, facial, pedicure rooms, break area, and plenty of parking for students and clients. All of our schools have excellent patronage, from young to old, male and female, for students to learn on. Rexburg's new school will be no different from the others. Our schools are very involved with the use of computers and up-to-date classroom and video equipment. Schools are involved with many professional products and use the professionals when available to the school.SCHOOL TERM
1st quarter - Students study all school procedures and all basic hair procedures.
2nd quarter - Students work on perfecting services and self evaluation.
3rd quarter - Students work on all phases where they feel they are weakest.
4th quarter - Students works on time, speed, getting ready for State Board Exams, and completion of the course.PRACTICAL SUBJECTS

After Graduation students are welcome to contact the school for support on work and services involved in their salons. The staff will be glad to help them in their continued growth as a cosmetologist.ENROLLMENT
The average enrollment for each class is small in order to give each student the personalized instruction they need.Classes start in September, January, April, and June on the 2nd Tuesday of that month.
