Art Roberts Park
Art Roberts Park is also locally known as Shaver's Beach Park. It is located due north of Second Street in downtown McCall. It features a municipal dock, a grassy slope and picnic benches, and a small sandy wading and swimming beach (at your own risk; there are no lifeguards). There is parking along the street in front of the park, and also behind City Hall at the top of the Second Street hill, behind the City Hall, Library, and Fire Station.
Davis Beach Park
Davis Beach Park is located at the west end of Diamond Street off Davis Street near Lick Creek Road. It is a quieter area favored by local families and nearby cabin owners. There is a sandy beach and swimming (at your own risk; there are no lifeguards). There are two docks which are privately maintained and owned, but open to courteous public pedestrian use. Boat mooring is limited to the dock owners, who are nearby cabin owners whose predecessors constructed the docks before the park was deeded to the City. Rest room facilities are thus far limited to porta-potties in season. One of the City's water pumping stations is at the far south end of this Park. There is no vehicle parking adjacent to the Park. Users should park in the municipal lot at the southeast corner of Lick Creek Road and Davis Street, walk north along Davis Street past Lick Creek Road, and left or west on Diamond Street. Please be courteous to the owners of property in the vicinity and avoid blocking narrow streets and driveways.
Legacy Park
Legacy Park is located in downtown McCall, at the corner of Third Street (Highway 55) and East Lake Street and to the northeast along East Lake Street. There are a volleyball court, rest room facilities, picnic tables, and a swimming beach (at your own risk; there are no lifeguards). Recently built with the proceeds of a bond sale, the park is intended as a centerpiece. Extensive landscaping is establishing itself. There is a parking lot here, and parking adjacent to East Lake Street, and also behind City Hall at the top of Second Street. Please be courteous to the owners of businesses in the vicinity by avoiding use of parking in front of their places of business.
Brown Park
Brown Park (formerly Mill park) is located north of the corner of East Lake Street with Hemlock Street, west and north of the adjacent condominiums, generally north along the Lake from Sports Marina. This Park is in fact connected to Legacy Park by the waterfront lands north and south of Sports Marina. Brown Park has a children's playground (provided by generous private donations and volunteer help) and rest room facilities. There is no vehicle parking adjacent to the Park. Users should park where and as long as legal along Hemlock Street and East Lake Street. Please be courteous to the owners of property in the vicinity and avoid blocking narrow streets and driveways. With the exception of land leased to Sports Marina, park property is continuous from Brown Park along the west side of East Lake Street to Legacy Park.
Rotary Park
Rotary Park is located at the east end of Lardo Bridge, north of Highway 55 on the Lake, where the North Fork of the Payette River exits the Lake. There is an extensive grassy area with picnic tables, a swimming beach (at your own risk; there are no lifeguards), and a parking lot. The area south of the Highway along the river, and the irrigation district dam, are closed to public use for safety reasons. As indicated by its name, the Park was developed and is sponsored by Rotary International.
Riverfront Park
Riverfront Park, also known as Riverside Park, is an area of municipal property along the North Fork of the Payette River across Mission Street from the airport. Presently it has the appearance of its immediate past use as a gravel pit. Plans include ball fields and river-oriented uses. An historic livestock trail goes through this area which is still used in season for the trailing of sheep. Today one can drive down into this area and walk to the River (at your own risk; there are no lifeguards). There are some wetlands along the northerly fringe of the park. Planning is proceeding and funding will have to be sought. As everywhere in the City, the discharge of firearms is prohibited at this location. A BMX (non-motorized) course is planned for construction here this summer, and a managed paint-ball course is also in the works.
