The Coeur d’Alene’s Parks Department maintains 409 acres, which includes eighteen developed parks, Tubbs Hill natural area, the Centennial Trail within city limits, numerous public beautification areas, boat ramps, docks, and the ever popular "Fort Sherman Playground". There are nine covered picnic shelters (gazebos) within the parks system that can be reserved. The Parks Department also prepares plans for the development of future parks. Through the Urban Forestry program, the Parks Department provides for the care of public trees. The Parks Department maintains the City's cemeteries through the Cemetery Division, and the City's buildings through the Building Maintenance Division.

Bluegrass Park
11 Acres Located at Dalton Avenue and Courcelles Parkway.
Children’s play equipment, spray pad (open from Memorial Day through Labor Day), basketball, volleyball, tetherball, open space, picnic shelter, disc golf, paved bicycle trails, restrooms.
Bryan Field
1.5 Acres located on Harrison & 10th Street
Little League baseball, children's play equipment, basketball court
Canfield Sports Complex
Dalton Avenue and Mountain Vista Drive.
This 16-acre park will see a lot of Little League baseball and soccer.
Centennial Trail
The North Idaho Centennial Trail is 23 miles long. You can walk, jog, or bicycle for 7 miles east of downtown Coeur d’Alene along Coeur d’Alene Lake Drive or travel west for 16 miles to the state line. The North Idaho Centennial Trail is a class I & II paved trail.
Cherry Hill Park
30 acres located at 15th Street & Hazel Avenue
Basketball, BMX track, tennis, sledding, restrooms, and children's play equipment. 9-11 Memorial will be added in 2007.
Coeur d’Alene City Park, Independence Point & Fort Sherman Playground
The City Park and Independence Point are located west of downtown on the waterfront.
This facility offers a multitude of things to do for families and for groups. Sunday Concert Series (summer), family and group picnic facilities, picnic shelter and bandshell reservations available, swim beach.
Fort Sherman Playground, volleyball, basketball, tour boats, seaplanes, other aquatic equipment, and restrooms.
Coeur d'Alene Place Soccer Complex
8-1/2 acres just north of Hanley on Courcelles Parkway.
G.O. Phippeny Park
2.5 acres located at 7th Street and Montana Avenue.
Phippeny Park provides a lot of open space for kids to play. Children’s play equipment, basketball, off-street parking, open space, tree identification area, picnic shelter.

3 acres located on 15th Street & Garden Avenue.

Ramsey Park
30 acres located on the 3500 block of Ramsey Road.

Shadduck Lane Park
A community park with basketball, volleyball, playground, and open space. Located on Shadduck Lane, south of Canfield Middle School. This is a 6 acre park that will serve the many new and older subdivisions in the northeast area of town.
Sunset Rotary Park
5.2 acres located at Best Avenue and 14th Street
Children’s play equipment, basketball, 2 softball fields, picnic shelter, restrooms.
Tubbs Hill
Tubbs Hill consists of 120 acres and is bordered by Lake Coeur d'Alene on the west, south and east sides. There are several miles of hiking trails on the hill that provide spectacular scenery for everyone to enjoy. The main trail on Tubbs Hill begins on the west side at the south end of 3rd Street. The east side entrance is located at the south end of 11th Street. A 2.2-mile interpretive trail follows on the perimeter of Tubbs Hill. Bicycles, motor vehicles, alcohol and glass containers are prohibited. Dogs are allowed but must be on a leash. Trail brochures are available at the Parks Department office.
The public is invited to support the preservation of Tubbs Hill by making a contribution to the non-profit Tubbs Hill Foundation. For a contribution of $150, or greater, a name can be engraved on one of the monument rocks at either one of the trail entrances. The donor or memorial name (limit of 22 letters & spaces); contact name, address and telephone number; and a check for $150 or more should be sent to the Tubbs Hill Foundation, c/o Parks Department, 710 E. Mullan Avenue, Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, 83814. Donations to the Tubbs Hill Foundation are tax deductible.
East Tubbs Hill Park
1.3 acres located on the 1000 block of 10th Street South
Open space, restrooms, trail access to Tubbs Hill.
Veterans Park
.9 acre located west of the Third Street Parking Lot and north of the Boat Ramp.
Waterfront
The City of Coeur d’Alene has the following waterfront facilities available to the boating public:
- 3rd Street Boat Ramp and Launch Dock: Personal watercraft can be launched at this ramp, which is accessible from the City Parking lot on Front Avenue at 3rd Street. A launching fee ($3 for Idaho residents; $6 for out-of-state residents) is collected by the parking lot attendant. There is a 30-minute limit at the launch docks.
- 3rd Street Mooring Docks: The mooring docks are located east of the boat ramp launch docks, at the foot of Tubbs Hill. Watercraft can moor at these slips for no charge between 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m., for a period of no more than six hours. Overnight moorage (10:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m.) is allowed for a $15 moorage fee, with a limit of two consecutive nights. All watercraft must fit within the length of the bay.
- 1st Street Mooring Dock: Located west of the Coeur d’Alene Resort. Watercraft can moor at these slips for no charge between 6:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m. for a period of no more than six hours during a 12-hour period. No moorage is allowed from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.
Winton Park
6.5 acres located at Melrose and LaCrosse.
This facility is unique in what it has to offer. Family and group picnic areas, picnic shelter, scenic trails and view points, 16 horseshoe pits.
Facility Reservations
Planning a group picnic or family reunion? Or perhaps a wedding reception or special event? You can reserve gazebos (covered picnic shelters) or the City Park Bandshell for a special event through the Parks Department. A reservation fee and Facility Use Permit are required for the reservation of facilities. Reservations are made on a first come, first served basis at the Parks Department Office.
