Strength & Cardio Classes
- Back to Basics: Perfect for the novice! Come learn the basics to step aerobics. It is open to all abilities but focuses on simpler combinations. This class introduces the fundamental steps and combinations utilized in step classes.
- Boot Camp: High Energy and High Intensity! Using an obstacle course expect lots of running, jumping, lunging, sprinting, and squatting. A class for all fitness levels. Sports based moves and drills to challenge any fitness level. Strength and endurance all in one class.
- Cross Training: This class mixes cardio equipment with strength training. Using a step, bands, cords, weights, balls, bars, treadmills, and bikes to get in shape. This fun class has something for everybody.
- Cycling: This class is great for cross training - high energy but each participant can choose the level they want to ride… great cardio and great leg workout. Cycle in a group setting. Instructor will teach you safe and proper techniques to maximize your workout. No experience necessary any fitness level welcomed. Please bring water bottle and towel to class. Class reservation recommended at the front desk.
- Dance Grooves: This class definitely appeals to the dancer in all of us. It is a fun way to stay fit by incorporates moves from Salsa, Cardio Tease, and Belly Dancing. It will make you sweat and burn those calories without even realizing it.
- Hi Energy Cardio: An energized fast paced workout recommended for those who like floor aerobics.
- BAT: 30 minute class designed to target the butt, abs, and thighs. Great for a before or after workout!
- Kickboxing: The fitness craze that will burn fat and calories. A variety of boxing and martial arts moves with an aerobic flare. Incorporates bag work and punching gloves are recommended.
- Power Step: A 40 minute advanced step class with advanced choreography and high intensity. Not recommended for a novice stepper and perfect for a lunch hour workout.
- Step: A fun and challenging combos working with one or two aerobic steps. A challenge for the body and mind.
- Step & Pump: A mix of step and strength training for the intermediate and advanced student. Followed by an abdominal workout.
- Strength Training: A total body workout designed to help improve muscle strength and flexibility. Come strengthen and stretch your body by using a variety of equipment including hand weights, bands, body bars, and stability balls. This class will not only make you strong it will help you gain flexibility.
Mind & Body Classes
- Body & Soul: An easy to follow combination of modern movement and West African rhythm using meditation and core muscles to unite the body and soul.
- Pilates: The class integrates breathing, flexibility, strength, precision and body awareness to lengthen, define and strengthen muscles. Pilates help improve daily functions and maintain a healthy core.
- PiYo™: Combines Yoga and mat method based on Pilates to enhance muscle strength and length. Also designed to improve posture, flexibility, and physical awareness. Appropriate for all fitness levels.
- Power Pilates: A hot new exercise that combines key elements of Pilates with weights, bands, body bars, and stability balls that are used for a fantastic resistance-training workout. Sculpt and tone the core muscles as well as upper and lower body.
- Tai Chi: A standing class that offers relaxation, flexibility and functional strength. This class incorporates slow controlled movements. Tai Chi, an ancient Chinese discipline of meditative movements, is now practiced as a system of exercises to strengthen the body and mind.
- Yoga: A yoga workout (Vinyasa-based) that approaches strength from a different angle, emphasizing muscle endurance rather than pure power. Focuses on musculature to enhance strength, flexibility, focus, and balance while toning the entire body. The yoga poses will give an all-over stretch but also build strength. Students are encouraged to work at their own pace.
Pool Exercise Classes
- Aqua Aerobics: High energy & challenging water workout for all fitness levels. This class focuses on cardiovascular and muscular strength. By working against the resistive force of water, you can increase balance, coordination, and range of motion.
- Senior Splash: This aqua class incorporates strength, flexibility, and cardiovascular training while working to improve range of motion, coordination and balance..
- Water Waves: A low impact cardio and muscle's toning workout using water as resistance

Congratulations on taking the Next Step to a healthier YOU! Our vision here at Idaho Athletic Club is to inspire you to get to the next level of fitness you desire. Whatever your goal, our certified personal trainers will keep you motivated and keep your workout routine fresh to help increase your fitness success and break through those plateaus. You will learn the correct way to use our equipment, learn what exercises are best for you, as well as learn proper form to prevent injury. Using an integrated approach, we will implement an entire program centered on flexibility, core, balance, and strength training along with proper nutrition, cardiovascular training, and supplementation.
The personal trainers at Idaho Athletic Club are all certified through the National Academy of Sports Medicine, and several have additional nationally accredited certifications and/or a degree in Exercise Physiology or related study. In addition to completing our in-house Trainer Development Class, we also provide our trainers with weekly education and training to insure our techniques and philosophies are on the cutting-edge with scientifically based research.
